Eugenie Fougere was a Parisian chanteuse and she was dancing to the ragtime cakewalk Hello Ma Baby which was a success in the New York theatre scene.

Animal trainer leads elephant around stage in front of backdrop painted w/ large castle. Elephant bows, puts feet up on stand as pony & dog run up w/ pony putting front feet on rear of elephant & dog putting front feet on back of horse. They stand until trainer moves aside, then dog circles in & out of under elephant walking around stage.

03:07:10 Elephant lays down & dog & pony put feet up on it. Pny walks on hind legs, then bows. Elephant stands on stand, takes end of rope in trunk; trainer turns rope & dog jumps rope. Trainer & dog jump rope together.

Elephant sits down. Dances & walks to camera as though taking it into open mouth. Walks around stage throwing flags from floor until it gets an American flag which it waves.

Elaborately painted stage set. A man is asleep in his Murphy bed as a thief climbs thru the window & begins ransacking the bedroom. As the robber searches the man s coat pockets, the man wakes & sits up, causing the bed to fold against the wall. Explosions or gun shots from the bed scare the burglar who is hit & disappears in a puff of smoke. The Murphy bed unfolds & the man bounces w/ joy.

Dog Factory

A contraption with lettering which reads dog transformer in front of wall of hanging sausages with signs reading bull , setter , terrier etc. People come in w/ dogs & put them into the machine, the shop assistant turns a crank and the dogs come out as sausages.

A man comes into the shop, describes a dog & a string of sausages is taken down from the wall & put into the machine and a dog comes out. The man takes the spaniel & leaves.

A woman comes in, asks for a Daschund & sausages turned into dog. She changes her mind & its turned back into sausages; then asks for a terrier and leaves.

Others come in and get more dogs.

One lady lifts her skirt for the man to tie her shoe but the policeman stops him & pushes them inside the train. A female leg protrudes from the window of the train & the police enter the train & throw the women off the train, the men follow & one is carrying a pair of fake legs.

One of the White men performs a solo dance while the others clap. The Black couples perform a cake walk, a fist fight breaks out with knives involved.

TITLE: Sons of the Ould Sod : A woman hangs laundry on the top floor of a two storey house. She drops a garment on a man s head as he reads the newspaper. The man sprays the woman s husband with dark liquid (Irish stout?) from a hose, the housewife comes out and hits the man with a barrel. The husband comes out into the street and they fist fight. The woman serves them pints of beer or stout (Guinness) and they cheer and laugh.

A contraption with lettering which reads dog transformer in front of wall of hanging sausages with signs reading bull , setter , terrier etc. People come in w/ dogs & put them into the machine, the shop assistant turns a crank and the dogs come out as sausages.

A man comes into the shop, describes a dog & a string of sausages is taken down from the wall & put into the machine and a dog comes out. The man takes the spaniel & leaves.

A woman comes in, asks for a Daschund & sausages turned into dog. She changes her mind & its turned back into sausages; then asks for a terrier and leaves.

Others come in and get more dogs.

A tramp, Happy Hooligan, watches an organ player in front of a stage-set house front. An irritated woman appears at the upstairs window & leaves. The tramp warns the organ player of a policeman and they run off screen. The policeman catches the tramp & chastises him beneath the window while the woman reappears & empties a bucket of water on the policeman by mistake. She faints, the tramp laughs & the policeman opens a door & runs into the house .

They stand until trainer moves aside, then dog circles in & out of under elephant walking around stage.
