How We Operate
We have detailed information about the holdings in various collections containing Public Domain material. Although the National Archives in Washington DC does have a website, only a fraction of their collection actually appears on the site.
In order to keep our costs low, we do not have a published catalog. We ask you to tell us about the type of material you are looking for by phone, fax or email. Within a few hours we will get back to you with the result of our research for which there is no charge.
When you want to view the material, you mark up your chosen items from the list we send you and we make you a VHS or DVD preview at a very reasonable price.
We currently have more than 2000 hours of master material and 5000 hours of preview tapes, so when you have made your selection based on the preview tape, we will arrange to have the masters duplicated for you if we do not have them already. We can supply you with any industry format and standard: PAL or NTSC, DigiBeta, BetaSP, DVCam etc.
Footage Farm provides a 24-72 hour turnaround service for the masters we hold in our office. If we need to duplicate the material from Washington, the delays are similar to those you would incur if you went straight to the source and should take between two to four weeks to deliver.
