Angel and the Bad Man Saloon Fight Scene

Cowboy (John Wayne) has tiff at bar with 3 men then sits at table with two dressed-up cancan girls and friend. Men at bar stare angrily. Cowboy gets up and big fist-fights ensues, with punching, bottles broken over heads, broken chairs etc. Saloon crowd including cancan Madam spurs them on from balcony. Madam punches man who falls off balcony. Entire saloon fights. Cancan girls look on. Cowboys fall out of saloon doors. John Wayne and cowboy friend sit and drink, woman approaches Oh honey, I was so afraid you d get hurt .

A herd of horned cattle is driven in the direction of the camera and on by it. As the last of the animals passes, the empty stock pen and a man in the foreground closing a gate can be seen.

Cowboys playing cards in bar. One shoots another, others tie him up and then tie noose in front of painted stageset tree. Hang him till only feet dangling in frame. Men come in and fire pistols at him.

Alphonse and Gaston No 3

Two characters in comic costumes enter a saloon. At the bar, they argue over who will take the first drink until an irritated cowboy takes a gun & shoots the floor around their feet, thus making them perform a little dance. Bartender cheers their leaving. Wall is papered w/ photos of boxers & women.

Herding Horses Across A River

Same river as Indians chasing cowboys. Cowboys herd horses into water and camera pans to right to follow them as they swim. Past camera in CU left to right. Farm buildings visible in background on opposite side of river.

Driving Cattle To Pasture

Cattle driven left to right by cowboys. Low fences visible. Seems to be intersection of roads. Probably from one pasture into another.

Brush Between Cowboys and Indians

From a single camera position a river is shown. Some men on horseback enter the scene from the right. The mounted men shoot rifles at some other men, supposed to be Indians who are also on horseback at some distance. The total cast consists of about twenty men and horses, and the Film seems to have been staged.

The Little Train Robbery

Melodrama copying story of Great train Robbery, acted by children. Probably first time in film history that another version was made with children playing main characters.

Group of children put on cowboy clothes around table. They ride out of a barn on horses and ponies, stop by a railway track and put ties across it. All hide next to the track as train approaches: it s a tiny train with children on board. The driver stops to remove the ties and bandits hold up train. Passengers put arms in the air. Robbers detach locomotive and ride off, soon pursued by men on foot wearing police hats. Robbers get off train and run to horses, cross river with police hot on their tracks.

At cabin, others welcome robbers back and loot is shared. Alarm is raised and all run off. Police search cabin, then give chase to robbers over bridge, through forest. Finally robbers jump into pond where the police catch them. They walk off, tied up to one another by a rope like a chain gang, led by police. One robber frees another, they both run off.

Mexican Sweethearts

Mexican cowboys drinking in bar. Woman tending bar and she vamps a cowboy in serape. They kiss; he leaves. US soldier comes in, she vamps him; throws food at him. Their tryst interrupted by Mexican with gun. Fight & lock soldier in back room. Mexican fellow fights with her. She has his pistol to head, he takes it away. She pretends to stab herself with knife, he distraught. She grabs him, vamps him, gets his gun & lets soldier out. Mexican blows smoke in soldier's face as he leaves. Woman & man share cigarette. Good quality

Three Chinese men (made-up white actors) in launry bow to shrine with incense. One touches the others braid & they bow to each other. Old man leaves w/ young man; other returns & sobs.

05:18:07 Title: Mongolian Gratitude -- The Chink hears the dandy s threat and resolves to save his friend.

Cowboy & dandy have fist fight but quickly broken up. Chinese man listens & leaves.

Postman arrives, reward poster put up in front of post office. Dandy & chinaman & cowboy at poster.

Chinaman hiding in bushes follows & sees Dandy put on bandit mask & hold up man on horse, then changes clothes in woods. Chinese watches him.

05:22:07 Title: The Chink s supreme sacrifice makes him forever an outcast.

Dandy drinks & falls asleep against tree. Chinaman cuts off braid & ties him up to tree with it. Chinaman pulls pistol & brings culprit to town; cheered by others. He looks in mirror & is devastated he has lost his braid.

Chinese man goes to girl, then cowboy. Returns to laundry and starts to leave w/ washboard & laundrybag. Cowboy and girl find goodbye letter & reward money from Chinaman for bridal present. They kiss as he watches, then he leaves town.

She introduces her father. Ken leaves to report murder to Sheriff, slowly rides off.
